Appliance Repair in The Colony, TX

The Colony has the oldest housing in my service area, and that changes what I bring in the truck. Roughly a third of the homes here were built by Fox and Jacobs in the 1970s and 80s, so a lot of kitchens are on their second or third set of appliances and a lot of laundry rooms have a dryer vent that has never once been cleaned out.

75056. 15 to 25 minutes from my house.

Coming down FM 423 past Hackberry, The Colony is usually my second stop on a Little Elm morning, 15 to 25 minutes depending on where you are in town. The older neighborhoods off Main Street and the newer ones along the lake need different things, and I know both.

What I see in The Colony homes

The original Fox and Jacobs neighborhoods
Homes from 1974 into the 1980s around Main Street, Nash Drive and Paige Road. Thirty-inch wall ovens set into cabinetry, simple top-load washers, and dryers with 40 years of lint in the vent run. Honest, repairable machines.
The Tribute and Stewart Peninsula
The lakeside golf community built out from the late 2000s and still building. Front-load laundry, French-door refrigerators, and builder packages from American Legend that are coming out of warranty.
Austin Ranch and Legends
A mix of single-family homes, townhomes and apartments. Stacked laundry, compact dishwashers and over-the-range microwaves are the regular calls.
Grandscape and the Highway 121 side
Newer townhomes and apartments near Nebraska Furniture Mart. Plenty of recent Samsung and LG equipment that has hit its first failure.

What I fix in The Colony

Questions from The Colony

Do you work on the old wall ovens in the 1970s and 80s houses?
Yes. Those single and double wall ovens have to come out of the cabinet to reach the back, and I do that regularly in The Colony. Elements, igniters and thermostats for them are still available.
My dryer in The Colony takes forever. Is the vent the problem?
In the older neighborhoods, almost always. Some of those vent runs have never been cleaned. I open the dryer, clean the cabinet and blower, check the run to the outside, and show you what came out.
How long does it take you to get to The Colony?
Fifteen to twenty-five minutes from Little Elm down FM 423, depending on whether you're near Main Street or out by the lake. Same-day is often possible if you call in the morning.
Is it worth repairing a 20-year-old washer?
Usually. The simple top-loaders in the older Colony homes are cheap to fix and last. I'll give you the price and say plainly if I think it's not worth it.

Whether it's a 1980s wall oven off Main Street or a new front-loader in The Tribute, you'll get the same person, the same $75 diagnostic, and a straight answer.

Something quit in The Colony? Call me.

$75 to come out and diagnose it, and that comes off the bill if you go ahead with the repair. You talk to me, I show up, I fix it.
