It's about 20 minutes up FM 720 and 2931 from Little Elm. The other thing that makes Aubrey different is the water. Parts of town are on Mustang SUD, which blends well water with lake water, and the older ranch properties north of town are on their own wells. Sediment from well water clogs washer inlet screens and ice maker filters faster than city water does.

- Sandbrock Ranch and ArrowBrooke
- Coventry and other builders with a broader mix of brands. More Samsung and GE here than in Silverado.
- Winn Ridge and the US 380 side
- Closer to Cross Roads and Providence Village, and often my first Aubrey stop of the day.
- Ranch properties and horse country
- Older homes on acreage north of town, on well water, sometimes with a second refrigerator or freezer in a barn or garage that gets punished by the heat.
